Anime in Viaggio

A Cantonese Opera X Italian Jazz Concert

About Heidi

Heidi Li is a multilingual jazz singer and film composer whose work bridges cultures through music. Based in Florence, she brings together her Asian roots and European training to create distinctive projects connecting traditions across continents.

Her recent work includes Anime in Viaggio (Journey of Mind), an intercultural production developed with the School of Chinese Opera at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. As composer and music director, she created and arranged music for an ensemble combining Cantonese opera and jazz, following an artistic residency and collaboration.

Beyond her artistic work, Heidi is engaged in international cultural exchange. She has initiated projects bringing the School of Chinese Opera of HKAPA to perform Cantonese opera on Italian stages, and continues to develop initiatives connecting artists and audiences between Hong Kong and Europe.

Her film scoring includes the acclaimed Nepali film A Road to A Village by Nabin Subba, where she crafted a sound world blending Western and ethnic influences.

Heidi also works as an educator, supporting singers in developing musicality, stylistic awareness, and personal expression. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Italian, and French, she brings a strong cross-cultural perspective to international collaborations.
